Unbelievable. A group of choir students from Waynesville Middle School in North Carolina was stopped by security while singing the national anthem at the 9/11 memorial in downtown NYC because … wait for it … they didn’t have a permit. From WPXI: A North Carolina middle school choir was ordered to stop singing the national anthem outside the 9/11 memorial in New York Wednesday. Video of the Waynesville Middle School choir’s New York City performance was posted to Facebook. According to the memorial website, groups wanting to perform must first get a permit.

“Basically, they performed approximately half of the National Anthem and they were told by security to cease and desist,” Waynesville Middle School principal Trevor Putnam said. “And they, of course, complied immediately.” The students didn’t have a permit but did have a verbal OK from one security guard, according Connie Shepherd Scanlon, to the woman who recorded video of the choir’s performance. Here’s the video of security stepping in halfway through the performance. What the heck is wrong with people! Should middle-school students need a permit to sing the national anthem anywhere in America?

You have to read the full story before you can come to the conclusion that it the security officer's fault. There is an ordinance that does not allow demonstration without a permit. He was following orders even if he did not like it. Granted it was stupid, but he was doing his job. Blame the city officials who came out with this rule.

Rules are rules but if you are stupid enough to not see what these students wanted to do here you just need to maybe remember what happened back in Sept. 11 01. These students were there to sing their national anthem, which is not just a song, it is a declaration that states that no matter what happens we will stay strong. To the guard, I would say "if you see a group of people doing this again, you should probably join them and show respect". I migrated to this country when i was 16 and felt the need to repay this country for the freedom i received for moving here and I joined the Army when I was 18, i have served proudly and even though i am not happy with the way Obama has been running this Country i would still die for this Country. God bless America and our freedom.

A permit to sing the national anthem. The ULTIMATE tribute to 9-11 victims.
I am Canadian and this makes me feel real bad for America

Get these far-right extremists out of there before someone who hates America is offended!

How is this less respectful than people chowing down on their lunch at the memorial? Taking selfies? Those people are allowed to stay, while children singing a beautiful rendition of our national anthem are told to shut up or be fined. Way to go, New York. You made a tragedy about money. Enjoy your spoils at the expense of civil liberties.

Clearly, the Obama regime considers this to be a memorial to Islam.
